She brought with her some rain
Vivian laughed in her face though
She asked Ida, "Is this just a game?"
Stuck inside, Viv used the down time
To practice her table surfing skills
She threw in a few dance moves too
Making mama crazy, ready to pop pills.
A few gusts of wind arrived
The dog went nuts like in any storm
Should we watch Elmo for a third time today?
I don't know, I'm feeling a bit torn.
Thank gawd the fridge is packed
Red wine and twelve cans of beer
I need to get out of this hotel room
Or I will seriously lose it, I fear!!
---------------------
The sky looked clear
So into the truck we hopped
We passed through downtown streets
Had lunch at a coffee shop.
We then drove to our future home
The owner finally removed the for-sale sign
Gosh we can't wait to move in next week
I can't believe this beauty will be mine!
After singing songs (and naming body parts)
Back to the hotel went Kirk, Viv and me
I guess I should thank Ida for this day
A hurricane holiday spent with family.

Glad you guys are ok! I hope it's the last one till next year.
It'll be a day you'll remember! At least there was wine and beer!
Hurricanes! Yikes! Glad everyone's ok. And thank goodness that fridge was stocked!
Glad that everyone is o.k.! I could read your witty wonderful poems all day. They always put a smile on my face. Your little princess' pictures are cute as always.
So very, very cute of Vivian to take up a new activity...table surfing. When that become a part of the Olympics, I know she'll be quite good at it.
Glad you all are okay. Nothing like a hurricane to spend some time together, having fun.
"And the gold medal for table-surfing goes to Vivian!!!!!
