There's No Place Like Home....

My ruby slippers are on my feet. They have transported me home.

The last line from The Wizard of Oz film sums up my feelings over our new house best:

Dorothy: "Oh but anyway Toto, we're home. Home! And this is my room, and you're all here. And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home!"

Don't you just love The Wizard of Oz movie?  And Judy Garland -- what a wonderful actress and singer she is/was.  I still cry like a baby every time I watch that motion picture.  When Dorothy thinks she will never return home to her beloved Kansas farm and family again, her despair affects me deeply.

I can understand how Dorothy feels.  I haven't felt "at home" in quite a long time.  No place has fit quite right.  Until now.

Everything about this house, this neighborhood and this community of Pensacola feels right.  I don't quite understand.  I can't yet explain it.  But it's the place for us.

I will provide more details, a few stories and hopefully several photos later this week.  Right now I am just too exhausted.  Plus, I don't even have a chair to sit in right now or a desk in which to type.  Our furniture is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  Perhaps my "sanity" will arrive by Thursday.  Maybe "normalcy" and "routine" will visit by the weekend.

Until then, I will remember Dorothy's lessons and keep her "friends" with me.  My heart, brain and courage will help me through the rest of this week.  And of course "the wizard" (a.k.a. bottle of red wine) will grant me my wishes too.  ;-)

I look forward to letting the yellow brick road lead me back here again soon.  After all, I miss munchkinland bloggerville.
